However, instead of forcing the audience to experience the trauma of Emmett Till’s death through a visual of his mangled body, “Jig-A-Bobo” focuses on the emotional trauma stirred by his death. Till, known fondly as Bobo, is one of Diana’s best friends, and his murder comes on the heel of her father’s death, and her mother’s prolonged absence—though she has not been told that Hippolyta has disappeared....

Manifest Season 1 Episode 1 The first episode of Manifest is an exemplary pilot in some ways; the premise of an airplane time-jumping five years is engaging, and the central mystery about what has been done to the passengers is a great hook. Even though only a few characters are able to grab us emotionally from the start, the groundwork is laid for many more to pull us in as the varying stories of the passengers onboard Flight 828 unfold....

WandaVision episode 7 is probably the final episode that is going to adhere to the sitcom format. As we’ve seen in recent episodes, the show is spending more and more time in the confines of the “real” MCU, and with its TV homages now brought up to modern day, it can spend its final two episodes bringing more surprises and wrapping up its incredibly ambitious story. But WandaVision episode 7 is ambitious enough in itself, and like previous episodes, it’s positively full of Marvel Comics Easter eggs and pieces that will likely expand the scope of the MCU as we know it....

Obviously this is your second time around. Did you ask for anything specific for your character in this movie? Nope! I get the script and Gunn’s style is well-thought out. It leaves very little work for me to do! From what he says it sounds like he keeps a tight rein on the actors sticking to the script. Is that your experience of working with him? Collaboration has been embraced in major ways and suddenly creators are able to provide their own slant on classic characters and reinvent them for a fresh set of eyes....

The answer, according to the new film’s producer John Davis, is Dan Trachtenberg. The 10 Cloverfield Lane director is about three-quarters of the way through filming his new female-led franchise installment, a Predator origin story that has dispensed with the Predator name and is now just going by ‘Skull’. “It goes back to what made the original Predator movie work,” Davis told Collider in the midst of promoting Disney’s Jungle Cruise....

Johnson stated that “I wrote a comic book with my boyfriend and Boom is quite excited about it. We’re sort of in the process of getting it made.” Johnson describes the comic as taking place in the present day of the Power Rangers world, with the original Rangers now in their mid 40s. “A ‘where are they now?’ kind of thing – like a Power Rangers family reunion.” This isn’t the first time Johnson has worked with Boom, having previously written the foreword for their Power Rangers Pink mini-series, which focused on her character of Kimberly....

Part of it is spent wrapping up Chris Smith’s struggles with his father in spectacular fashion while the other part deals with setting up the climactic battle against the Butterflies in the finale to come....

Social media users first noticed and reported signs in Target’s trading card sections indicating that Pokémon, NFL, MLB, and NBA cards would no longer be in stock beginning on Friday, May 14. Similar signs have been observed in Walmart stores as well, though the company has yet not commented as to whether this is a nationwide initiative. With all this in mind, Eon Productions—now run by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, heirs to late 007 uber-producer Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli—decided that the breezier Moore-with-a-dash-of-Connery escapades that Brosnan headlined had gone as far as they could go. So they rebooted, and the decision was made that the next movie, the long-awaited (and long held up by rights issues) adaptation of Ian Fleming’s very first Bond novel, Casino Royale, would feature a younger, more hard-edged Bond....

That’s exactly what happens to Noomi Rapace’s single mother Renée in Rupture, the new film from filmmaker Steven Shainberg, who has been making movies since 1992, but whose status as a filmmaker really exploded with 2002’s controversial S&M film, Secretary, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. For a long time while watching the film, we’re unsure who Renée’s captors are or what they want from her. But they are using fear to trigger something in their experimental subjects, making it a film that really keeps you on edge....

That creative team did a solid job of filling the shoes of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson last time, and the quartet moving ahead for a fast tracked sequel that will shoot this summer has echoes of the quick turnaround Craven and Williamson pursued for Scream 2—a movie we believe to be one of the better horror sequels ever made. Undoubtedly, this collection of filmmakers have their own ideas about where the next Scream movie (or two) will be headed....
