My Hero Academia season 5 promises more kinetic action sequences, thoughtful character work, and terrifying villains, yet the anime can come across as slightly intimidating to newcomers now that it has four seasons and 88 episodes under its belt. Despite heavy serialization, My Hero Academia is fairly accessible and even caters towards new viewers. Nevertheless, there are still some important details and background information that will help make season five easier to understand....

Granted, My Hero Academia exists within such an exaggerated world that there’s a sliding scale of what qualifies as “normal,” especially when it comes to the context of society’s villains. Contrasting opinions are presented on which villains are acting “properly” and have the best vision for not only the state of villainy, but society itself....

This season caters towards perpetual combat, but part of the reason that these clashes are so successful is because everyone has trained hard and improved upon their base skills, only the audience isn’t privy to how exactly these heroes have upped their games....

Nancy Drew Season 2, Episode 1 The CW mystery series Nancy Drew returns for its second season with “The Search for the Midnight Wraith,” an hour that’s as confident, self-assured, and downright scary as the show has ever been. Technically, Nancy Drew’s first season came to an early end due to the coronavirus pandemic but watching the Season 2 premiere, it’s hard to tell that the story of the monstrous Aglaeca wasn’t always meant to carry over into the new season....

Then there’s the throwback majesty of Wooze’s “Huge Axeman.” The latest single from the British/Korean duo of Jamie She and Theo Spark, the funky new wave-flavored jam sounds like Devo overdosing on Adderall. Wooze formed in England in 2017, but with this tune — a highlight from their new EP The Magnificent Eleven — the group may be poised for global, make that intergalactic, success. A huge reason for this is the video for “Huge Axeman” which was hand-animated by She over a period of six months....

Here’s the thing about the Succession season 3 finale: everything is going to work out fine for the Roy siblings. Despite the sale to GoJo ending any chance of their inheriting Waystar Royco, Kendall, Shiv, and Roman Roy aren’t going to be financially destitute any time soon. The trio has been obscenely rich for so long that it’s almost functionally impossible for them to ever not be rich anymore. Through their previous jobs at Waystar, allowances, and various investments, each of the Roy children are certainly still multi-millionaires, if not billionaires....

In Skyfall, things culminated in a bloody showdown between 007 (Craig) and the villainous Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem) at the titular Skyfall estate, Bond’s surprise childhood home. Also along for the ride were M (Judi Dench) and the estate’s jolly gamekeeper, Kincade, with the latter being a tie to James Bond’s childhood. Although Kincade was played by the legendary Albert Finney, the original plan was to cast Connery in the role, which would’ve been a multiversal mind melt considering he’s arguably the most famous actor to play Bond....

A Room for Romeo Brass Considine studied Performing Arts at Burton College where he met Shane Meadows with whom he would frequently collaborate. A Room for Romeo Brass is Considine’s first movie role, where he plays disturbed local man Morell who insinuates himself into the lives of a couple of 12-year-olds Gavin and Romeo (Ben Marshall and Andrew Shim – the latter would go on to be one of the stars of This is England)....

What is Panic? Every summer, graduating seniors compete in Panic, a series of challenges that force participants to face their deepest fears, all for a shot at winning a large cash prize. All seniors are eligible, but only one person can win, and this year, the pot is bigger than it’s ever been—$50k. Two episodes into Peaky Blinders, the Birmingham-set gangster drama that thundered onto screen in 2013 and grew into a global obsession, Tommy Shelby says that he has a broken heart. He’s drunk and melancholy, talking to Grace, the woman he’ll eventually love, marry, and lose to a bullet that was meant for him. When Grace warns Tommy that the sad song she’s about to sing will break his heart, he tells her, “Already broken....

Tommy Shelby wins. That’s what happens in a Peaky Blinders finale. He spends six episodes playing dangerous games against deadly foes, and then right at the end, his strategy comes through, he steps out of the grave he’s been digging for himself, brushes off the dirt and moves up to the next level. Even when his whole family was carted off to prison, it was all part of Tommy’s scheme, because in a Peaky Blinders finale, Tommy Shelby wins....

What is Phasmophobia? It’s a 4 player co-op game that sees you and three friends (or whoever is available) hunt down ghosts across various haunted locations. It’s essentially every ghost hunting show you’ve ever become strangely addicted to, but the very important twist is that the ghosts are both real and the source of some of the most effective scares that we’ve seen in years. On the surface, Phasmophobia probably doesn’t sound like the kind of game that would have to worry about hackers....

The commonly offered refrain that toys are primarily designed for children first and collectors a distant second was just blasted with a photon torpedo courtesy of German toy company Playmobil, which has unveiled its Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701—or, as Scotty once specified, “no bloody A, B, C or D.” The item celebrates the 55th anniversary of the bellwether television series and the multimedia franchise it subsequently spawned. Playmobil, known for stylized miniature-scaled replicas with sounds and lights, has designs to impress with this release....

In prior Pokémon games (Generation 1 titles notwithstanding), Scyther could only evolve into Scizor when traded while holding a Metal Coat. Likewise, Scyther can evolve into Kleavor when given a new item called Black Augurite. While trading is no longer required, the question of how to obtain Black Augurite still remains. It’s not like the jagged rock grows on trees, although it might as well if you know where to look....

44. Nick Russell (Firass Dirani) Power Rangers Mystic Force Nick is not great. Mystic Force was squarely focused on him and that red blanket of his. He had few redeeming qualities besides driving his bike into the face of a monster. He turned to evil in the finale for no discernible reason! He was so ready to give up when faced with adversity, his entire team had to rally him to keep going....

I have never been more surprised at an episode of Power Rangers than I was for ‘The Silva Switch.’ In the middle of the story, out of the blue, with no warning, we got an elaborately choreographed song and dance number featuring Steel in Nate’s body as the entire cast, augmented with backup dancers, sing about great it is to be human. I…. I am beyond stunned and delighted. I never imagined this could happen in Power Rangers....

Now with her starring turn in the new comedy/horror thriller Ready or Not, Weaving may really break out into the mainstream. Physical similarities to Margot Robbie aside (which has been a big talking point in recent days since the red carpet events for Ready or Not), much like Robbie herself, Weaving is showing audiences around the world her versatile acting abilities that make her a threat in any type of role....

For science fiction fans, Tudyk may be Wash from Firefly, or K-2SO from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For fans of comic-book-based shows, he’s Joker and Clayface on Harley Quinn, or Mr. Nobody on Doom Patrol.
